Links for Students
This is a place where students who find links that they believe would be a great resource for others to be able to link to can post links. Students please include a brief description of the link and why you thought it might be helpful for others to view.
Looking forward to seeing what students are coming up with to add on our latest module theme: Homelessness in the Comox Valley.

I just found a great site that has visual links for us to check out. Check it out at: http://www.search-cube.com/# and enter “homeless” in the search engine. You can also further refine your search as homeless Canada or homeless B.C.
I like this site because you can see each link that might interest you and the serach includes videos, newspaper articles, music, images and more.
Another site I just found that might help us with the new learning module is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T76V_XVpumg Maybe we can link this to the presentation that we’ll be required to complete at the end of this module. Let me know what you think?
I just watched a Tracy Chapman video on utube and it really made me think about our the homeless here in the valley. Check it out at: http://centerforrespitecare.wordpress.com/2008/08/22/another-homeless-song-chapmans-revolution/
Hey I hear we can head over to the soup kitchen next week. Let get organized into a group and see which day we can help out? Mondays or Thursdays???
I just noticed that there’s also a new Leona Lewis song called ‘homeless’ and I’ve added the youtube clip if anyone else wants to listen to it.

Hey, I just checked out the link to http://www.search-cube.com/#
It’s really cool. I’m going to search soup kitchens and see what comes up. Thanks for the link.
I just heard that many of the homeless hang out at the Soup Kitchen which is hosted at St. Georges United Church in Courtenay. I think they can get a free meal there and keep warm. I wonder what kind of food they serve and how often people can go there?
New Learning Module! Let’s get started.

Thanks for the links! I’m going to look at the one from the Comox Valley Record. I think it would be neat to see if we might be able to find out what homeless people here in the valley do with their time all day when they have nowhere to go?
